Yoni grew up in Johannesburg South Africa in a traditional family. After school, he went to learn in some of the top Yeshivas in Israel including the Mir, as well as the Yeshiva Gedola of South Africa, before attending the Jerusalem Kollel run by Rabbi Berkovits, where he attained his Rabbincal ordination. Simultaneously he received his degree in Economics and Finance from the University of South Africa, graduating summa cum laude.
He has played numerous roles in Jewish outreach both in South Africa and in Israel before moving to London to take up the role as Director of Young Professionals for Aish UK. In this role Yoni will be planning and executing programming, events, trips, and shabbat events to strengthen this community, and ensuring every young professional has a sense of Jewish belonging.
Yoni is a lifelong sports fan having played football since he could stand on two feet (quite brilliantly some may say), he is an avid supporter of Man United (you may even catch him sneaking to a game between his busy schedule). Yet his most ardent dedication belongs to his wife and two adorable children who he lives with in Hampstead.
